CHI's do not last long. They break way too easily. Don't waste your money, and don't listen to the one's that are telling you it's the best. Sedu is one of the best straighteners out there and it is only $100.
To purcase a Sedu at the cheapest price, go to Folica.com , scroll to the very top and click on Hair Styling. On the left hand side, there will be and A - Z brand list. Find Sedu, click on it, and everything else from there is self - explanitory.

I would also recommend using a 1 inch instead of 1 1/2 inch, because the 1 1/2 doesn't do curls very well.
It reaches 410 degrees, with tempature control if you would like a lower tempature. CHI does not have tempature control. That means if the set tempature is too high for your hair, it can fry.
Celebrities have nice hair, and they don't use CHI. They use Sedu. There is something called Sedu hairstyles on every beauty website. No CHI hairstyles right?
Never use on wet hair.

I have a conair straightener, and to tell you the blunt truth, it doesn't work that well. I have to use my sisters straightener to do my hair and use the conair one as well. That might be because of my hair type (thick) I would save up my money and buy one from the salon or maybe a bed head straightener. Use your best judgement!

Ughh! Theres half of you who say Chi is sh*tty.. and Conair is the best. Then the other half says Chi is the best.
So I'm thinking about buying a Conair Straightener instead?

Why doesn't my Conair hair straightener work?
i was straightening my hair this morning and by the time i was on the last piece thingy the heat turned low and wouldn't straighten at all..

GHDs are best in my opinion but it gets very hot(and expensive $320) so leave it for extra special occasions, if you want one for everyday use. A CHI or a SEDU is a great option both costing around $100

Hey i am about to buy a new straightener and narrowed my search down to either the Revlon Perfect Heat 2-in-1 Ceramic Curler and Straightener or the Conair Split-Barrel 1.5'; Iron and Straightener

I use this stuff from wal-mart, but you can probably get in anywhere, it's a heat tamer. You just spray it on your tips before bringing heat to it. I haven't had a hair cut in months and you can't tell. I wish I could remember the brand. It's in the isle with Hair Spray and gel. In a black bottle with some red, i think the handle is red. It's only like 3 bucks and works great!

They restore the moisture in your hair. Chi straightners are better but they dont have a temperature setting and break easily. The best straightner to get is a Sedu. It will straighten better than any drugstore straightner. It comes in 1 inch or 1 1/2 inch. well...to be perfectly honest, both brands suck...i know because i had both and neigher lasted longer then 3 months...so if you want a GOOD straighter, then get Hot Tools (professional) and its only about 35-40 dollars depending on which you choose and its lasted me 4 years so far and counting, so i would say invest in a good one instead of getting a cheap one because in the long run, the cheaper one would end up being the more expensive one since you will probably have to keep buying new ones, so you really do get what you pay for...My hair is really thick and curly, so maybe thats why the others didnt work, and maybe im just rough with my straighter, but i would get the more expensive one...and its even under $50....at least it was when i bought it for my sister last year....I hope that this helps....:)

get revoln cermanic flat iron.....the cermanic kind doesnt damage the hair like the metal ones

Revlon all the conairs i have used are horrible! And go with a ceramic one also.

I don't even think Revlon makes a hairstraightner. I went on there websight (below) and couldn't find one. But Conair sucks, don't buy one. If you are going to buy one get a ceramic one, they don't dry out your hair. Here is the websight:

I would say Revlon is better. Sometimes you can find a hot tools straightener on sale, which would be a lot better because that is a great brand.

I own a ';Hot Tools'; ceramic hair straightener and it works well on my hair, and my hair is really long and thick and it definately wasn't over $50 bucks

Out of the two brands you listed, Andis. I've read VERY good things about it. Conair isn't very good. :/

've tryed reseting/changeing the outlet, I've brought it to a friends house to see if it would work there..... but it wont work, the light goes on and does the flashing button for heating up, but it stays freezing cold no matter how long I leavit on for... FACT! go for the more expensive one, its not more expensive anyway and it can probably get to a higher heat and will straighten faster and last longer. I just brought new ones that straighten in a stroke and there brilliant! My last ones lasted 5 years of high heat everyday use. My new ones are remmingtons and cost me about 拢60 GBP i think thats about $120? Make sure you read up on the features

I wouldn't suggest using your flat iron over when hair unless it was meant for that since they make wet to dry irons but even then I would be wary of it

so does that mean that i don't have to unplug it after i'm done with the straightener?
